Fort Knox unit visits offer veterans' organizations a chance to see the "New Army" from an Armor perspective while they remember the "Old Army" with their fellow comrades. A unit itinerary usually consists of a memorial ceremony, lunch at Kouma dining facility or the Fort Knox Leader's Club, a visit to the Patton Museum, a driving tour of the military installation and when available a visit to the simulators.
|
The Radcliff/Fort Knox Convention and Tourism Commission offers the following services to military reunion groups (exclusively for groups utilizing Radcliff hotels and motels):
- Information on area attractions and accommodations
- Guided tour of the Patton Museum and the Fort Knox Military Installation
- Welcome packets
- Name badges
- Tourist information booth at the host hotel
|

SimNet
An acronym for "Simulated Network", the facility at Fort Knox consists of tank simulation modules, which give the actual atmosphere, and feel of tank warfare. Additionally, the "Network" consists of a satellite link-up with other installations.
For Veteran groups, and military reunions, an actual hands on visit to the SimNet is available.
The Patton Museum is recognized as the most visited attraction in Hardin County. In addition, it is rated as one of the most unique museums in the military museum system.
The Armor Unit Memorial Park consists of hundred of memorial "obelisks," containing the names of the armor units, and is visited annually by armor organizations for dedications.
