- The Patton Museum -

The Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor is listed as one of the most visited sites in Kentucky. The facility derives its name from the famed World War II general, George S. Patton, Jr., and houses a tremendous amount of his personal effects.

The evolution of Armor and history of the Cavalry are also major displays in the facility, which includes exhibits from every America-involved conflict, including armored vehicles captured during Desert Storm.

The Patton medals collection, his 1938 Cadillac limousine in which he suffered his fatal injuries, many of the Army vehicles assigned to him, and a life-like sculpture of the general himself highlight the "Patton" exhibit. Also on display are the famed Patton Pistols.

The newest addition to the museum is the 350-seat "Abrams Auditorium", named for General Creighton Abrams. The facility can serve as a meeting area for large and small groups, and is available on an advanced-reservation basis.
